Español….

Español, español, español.

It’s all about learning at the moment. I cannot do anything without language. I mean in the tourist areas of course they do speak english, but I’m trying to avoid those places. There is an exception though… a coffee shop. Surprisingly they don’t have a coffee shop culture here. Coffee shop is a place where you can only find foreigners or posh locals. Both are not in my target group so it is a compromise for me to go there. The only reason is my spanish home work that I need to do every day. It is nice to sit down outside and “download all the data”. It’s feels like a massive download into my brain. An upgrade of my old operating system:) Eva is taking my case really seriously. Three days in a row we spent some time in the late afternoon learning spanish from the basics. It makes me realise that I have never learned any language properly. Maybe ages ago some German but not English. I have no concept of english grammar rules whatsoeverI’ve missed all those classes at school ops.. All I really know I’ve learned from practice so it is an interesting and challenging experience.  It is not easy one! All verbs conjugation depending upon the person and time. All adjectives with feminine or masculine ending. My poor brain did not expect that in my mid 30ties:)

Anyway if I want to communicate with locals and get to know the real Latin America that’s the price I need to pay. Eva is giving me some good foundation, and I’m trying to combine it with a practice. It’s ok. I like to push myself:)

I’m at my new place and I like it. Seniora Marta who runs the building is so nice. Bless her heart. There are 3 people on this premises 24/7. Always here, always together. I don’t think they own it, I think they work and live here. 2 women, 1 man. I’m not sure what’s the story between them. You would think I can ask, but no they don’t speak any word in english but there is a hope …..check this out!!! Yesterday I asked them if they have tv (obviously I’ve asked Eva how to say it before) The idea behind was just to sit with them and to listen them/tv speaking Spanish. I think they understood that I want tv in my room. Well, that would work as well but nothing has happened yet. Anyway tonight I bumped into them again. 3 of them with the food shopping from the market and me all wet as it’s been raining tonight. I said with my newly learned phrase that I’ve just been to my spanish class with Eva. They in response said something about tv and invited me for tv and a dinner tomorrow night!!!! I have definitely not misunderstood that. A home cook meal! I’m in it! The conversation will flow for sure!

Here you go some pictures from my new crib. After unpacking it’s more homely and useable. It is so basic and so bloody blue, but surprisingly I like it:)
